The inspiration for this scarf was the colours of Autumn, in a glorious combination from green to orange!

It is a hand-dyed medium length silk scarf, ideal for wearing without tying or with a single knot. Dyed with natural dyes using botanical print techniques in shades of orange, green, purple and gold.

I prepared local rose and sycamore leaves from my garden and allotment (yes, one by one 🙂 ) including dipping them in baths of natural dyes, then printed them on the scarf, together with little pieces of madder root. I also dip-dyed the ends in a madder bath.

The result was a light off white background where the leaves printed in deep but soft colours in the Autumn palette. The scarf is beautiful, very unusual, very classy, and will add a very special touch to any outfit!It is literally a touch of warm orange Autumn beauty 🙂
