A soft and luxurious chunky scarf that is guaranteed to keep you warm on the coldest days. This scarf is a beautiful, but difficult to name shade of blue.It would best be described as mineral blue, teal, or greenish blue and it is one the beautiful colors that can be seen in peacock feathers.I included a picture that is closest match that I can find on the computer.The scarf yarn is a very soft boucle yarn that creates a very thick and wind resistant scarf that is still lightweight and beautiful.
I first bought this yarn to make scarves for friends and family and I fell in love with it because it makes such a warm, comfortable, and colorful scarf.The yarn also has a very interesting texture which is hard to describe but the special texture results in a very thick, soft, and luxurious scarf.Pictures truly can not show how soft and comfortable these scarves are and words can’t adequately describe them.They have to be worn to be truly appreciated! This is the scarf you need to wear when it is cold and windy outside.It is great for walking to class or work, watching football or other outdoor events, waiting at a school bus stop, shopping in an open mall, sledding, shoveling snow, doing outdoor chores, etc.
Stockinette vs. garter stitch- stockinette stitchis knit stitch on the front side and purl stitch on the reverse.Most customers prefer this scarf because of the smooth appearance.With stockinette stitch, the edges tend to roll in when the scarf is new.Garter stitch has a ribbed appearance and appears the same on both sides. The edges on a garter stitch scarf will not turn in.The last five pictures are garter stitch and the remaining are stockinette.
Staight vs. infinity- The straight scarf has two ends.The infinity scarf is a continuous loop without a twist.
The length of the scarf may vary slightly from 60″ due to variations in stitch size and skein size.The color of the scarf may also vary.I try to take all of my pictures in natural light without flash.The color appearance can still change quite a bit depending on the time of day, the background behind the scarf, and the actual color of the scarf.Furthermore, since these colors are naturally striped or intermingled, the color is not the same from one skein of yarn to the next.The scarf that you receive will have the same colors but the colors may be distributed differently than the scarf that is pictured.If you have questions, please contact me.
These scarves are also very easy to care for;
– machine washable on cool or warm setting
– machine dryable
– you can also hand-dry the scarf to reduce fuzziness or put it in the dryer just long enough to remove the lint and then hand dry
– do not iron
This scarf is hand knit in stockinette stitch which means the ‘right’ side of the scarf is knit and the other side is purl.Most customers prefer stockinette stitch because it has a very smooth appearance.The front and back sides of the scarf are slightly different and when the scarf is new the edges tend to roll in.In order to minimize the edges turning in, flatten the scarf and then roll it for storage.
Unfortunately, this yarn has been discontinued so I bought as many skeins as I could find in the colors that I needed.I have been making these scarves for six or seven years and I can’t find any comparable yarns. I am running out of sources for almost all colors so once my stash is gone these scarves will not be available.I occasionally find someone selling a stash for outrageous prices but I haven’t been able to find most colors at reasonable prices so I am not optimistic about obtaining more.In other words, if you are interested in these scarves and can not buy one now, please contact me about availability.There are several colors that I have large quantities of, but in other colors I may have only one scarf remaining.
