Antique lace collar, 19th century, Brussels Applique

A stunning 19th century, antique lace collar, Brussels Applique lace technique but very fine and delicate with point applique elements to it.

It has a very fine net with the most detailed designs of forget me not flowers with a circular wreath of flowers to the back and all over ivy leaves, all led together with a ribbon and bow design.

It has a lot of sentimental elements to it with the forget me not flowers and ivy leaves, symbolic in the Victorian era of everlasting.

I think this collar was definitely made with a romantic feel, possibly even a bridal piece.

It is very wide as collars go and very elegant.

Condition:
Good condition overall, some tiny pin holes but structurally strong and most beautiful, some time discolouration, some small brown marks.
