A fabulous pair of unused cotton handkerchiefs featuring the illustrations of famed French artist, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. They appear to be hand-printed onto cotton and were brought back from Paris as a souvenir.
Toulouse-Lautrec (1864 β 1901), was a French painter, printmaker, draughtsman, caricaturist, and illustrator whose immersion in the colourful and theatrical life of Paris in the late 19th century allowed him to produce a collection of enticing, elegant, and provocative images of the sometimes decadent affairs of those times.
These hankies feature a portrait of Mademoiselle Marcelle Lender, and Reine de Joie par Victor Jose, famous lithographs by Lautrec in the 1890s. As mentioned, they are in excellent unused condition. As they are handprinted, there are a couple of marks from the printing process, just part of the character of the print.
Each handkerchief measures approx 35 x 25 cms (14 x 10 inches). They will be shipped by Royal Mail Second Class or International Standard.
