Navajo 1890 Collection – Cowl Neck (like a buff) – 100% Lambswool merino
This is a soft cowl neck scarfmade on my standard domestic knitting machine. This is a one sided fabric which has been lightly felted to give it a robust finish for durability and longevity. The fabric loop pops over the head sitting comfortably around the neck and has been designed to create humble and honest functionality for your wardrobe.
Wool is natural, biodegradable and renewable which makes it the best possible fibre to have next to your skin. My aims are simple…. I want to keep you warm and make you smile.
Hand wash cold & steam iron.
‘Navajo 1890’ collection! The design was born out of a desire to create a fabric which appeared to be woven using a knitted structure. Recent inspiration has come from tradition woven textiles from all over the world as a direct result of the research behind deigning and making my own woven traditional Welsh blankets (which can also be found here on my etsy shop). If you would like to know more about my blankets keep reading….
I was fortunate enough to work in one of the very special remaining Woolen Mills in West Wales, U.K where I processed wool from a friends farm from my home town of Hereford and Alpaca fleece sourced from the neighbouring county of Worcestershire. The blankets were then woven in a Mill thirty minutes from where I now call home in Pembrokshire. My aim was to keep the chain small… so to speak. The fibres are un dyed, beautifully soft and 100% natural with minimal impact on the environment and zero air miles.
