Green and Teal Long, Floaty Silk Pongee Scarf, with exotic flowers, in Batik style. Perfect for wearing with summer dresses and blouses.

A beautiful, long, Batik style Silk Painted Silk Pongee Scarf, featuring large, exotic, Hibiscus flowers, and their buds, as well as leaves. I loved painting this scarf using my photos of flowers seen on my travels around the country, usually on visits to country gardens and National Trust Houses. The image is painted in hot wax, and colours applied between successive applications of the wax. It is impossible to know exactly how the final result will look, once the wax is ironed off between two sheets of blank newsprint paper, which is why I love this method so much. There are shades of blue, and, yellow, as well as shades of lime green, leaf green, and, sage.
If you need to wash the scarf, you can do so, by hand, using mild detergent and water at around 30 degrees. Dry between two clean tea towels, to prevent water marks. The paints used are steam fixed, so they are permanent and won’t run. The feel of silk fixed this way is so silky and luxurious.
